localhost:2567 only works on the host machine itself. Joining from another PC? Use the host's LAN address, e.g. 192.168.1.42:2567 — the host's lobby screen shows it.

Applies immediately, and again next time — it is saved with your callsign. 1.00 is the default; the range runs from a tenth of it to four times it, so there is room either side of whatever feels right. You can open this from ESC during a match and drag the slider while you play.

Every sound is generated in the browser — laser fire, footsteps (you can hear the difference between a walk and a sprint) and eliminations. Other players’ sounds are positional.
